The company savoury and sweet biscuits and snacks include Provita; Jumping Jack; Bakers; Baumann’s; Pyotts and Willards, while their hot beverages range includes Five Roses; Ellis Brown; Koffiehuis; Frisco; Freshpak; Douwe Egberts; House of Coffees; Lavazza; Ciro and Cafitesse.

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME

The AVI Limited Bursary, administered by the StudyTrust, will be awarding bursaries within the following fields of study:
Degree studies:
  • Commerce (Marketing/ Finance)
  • Mechanical Engineering
Diploma studies (National Diploma/ B Tech):
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Food Technology

AVI Limited will provide full cost bursaries to cover all study related expenses.
The AVI Bursary Programme also provide their bursars with vacation work opportunities, as well as graduate development positions to students who have successfully graduated.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
Degree students:
  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
  • Studying OR intending on studying full time within one of the aforementioned undergraduate fields of study
  • Studying OR intending on studying at one of the following institutions: University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria, University of the Witwatersrand, University of KwaZulu-Natal
  • Achieve a degree endorsement on your NSC certificate
  • Commerce students: Achieved a minimum result of 60%/ C symbol/ level 5 for Mathematics and English FAL
  • Engineering students: Achieved a minimum result of 60%/ C symbol/ level 5 for Mathematics, Physical Science and English FAL
  • Strong academic record
  • Proven financial need
Diploma students:
  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
  • Studying OR intending on studying full time within one of the aforementioned undergraduate fields of study
  • Studying OR intending on studying at one of the following institutions: University of Johannesburg, Vaal University of Technology, Tshwane University of Technology, Durban University of Technology
  • Achieve a diploma endorsement on your NSC certificate
  • Engineering students: Achieved a minimum result of 50%/ D symbol/ level 4 for Mathematics, Science and English FAL
  • Strong academic record
  • Proven financial need

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BURSARY

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):
  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Grade 11 final results, if currently in Matric (certified copy)
  • Matric June results, if currently in Matric (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate/ results, if completed Matric (certified copy)
  • Complete tertiary academic record, if at tertiary level (certified copy)
  • Proof of admission/ provisional admission to the institution you applied at, if not currently at tertiary level
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Testimonial from a teacher or lecturer
  • Parents/ guardians proof of income: (latest payslips if employed/ latest financial statements if self-employed/ sworn affidavits if unemployed/ death certificates if deceased/ divorce certificate if divorced)
