ABOUT THE COMPANY – AFRIMAT

Afrimat Limited is a mining company and provider of construction materials and industrial minerals to the construction, infrastructure, building and civil markets in South Africa (particularly in Gauteng, the
Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, the Eastern Cape, the Northern Cape, Mpumalanga, the Free State and Limpopo) and Mozambique. The company has 5 main divisions, namely: Readymix, Contracting International, Concrete Products, Mining & Aggregates and Industrial Minerals.
The group service projects of various scales – from small-scale private sector contracts, to large-scale construction and infrastructure projects for parastatals and state-owned enterprises. Afrimat’s main mission is to operate opencast mines, provide customers with contracting services and to add value via mined products.

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

Afrimat will be awarding bursaries to students pursuing their studies towards a Mechanical Engineering qualification.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Originally from one of the following areas: Vaal area/ Nelspruit/ Bronkhorstspruit/ Lephalale/ Victor Khanye Municipality
  • Studying towards a Mechanical Engineering qualification
  • In the 2nd year of study in 2020
  • Studying at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa
  • *Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds
