The Tax Professional Occupational Qualifications (NQF8)
Description: Tax is the heartbeat of all commercial transactions – it drives how decisions are made, no matter how big or small.   It demands a pioneering way of thinking in a fast-paced environment.
The 21st Century Tax Professional are equipped to communicate effectively and deliver out of the box strategic thinking and big-picture perspective in order to contribute effectively to this dynamic Industry.
There are many paths to becoming a Tax Director at a big Firm or Corporate, one route is via CA(SA) route, another is via a law route or you can choose to specialise after University via the
Tax Professional Occupational Certificate. This qualification is at an NQF 8  and the Professional body responsible is The South African Institute of Tax (SAIT).
Once successfully finishing the final board exams, students get the prestigious designation  Tax Advisor,  (TA)TM

Tax Technician Occupational Qualification (NQF6)

Description: Tax practitioners are individuals who complete SARS returns and handle basic objections on behalf of clients for a fee. 
The 21st Century Tax Practitioners are equipped to communicate effectively and deliver out of the box  thinking to add value to their clients.
In order to be registered with SARS as a tax practitioner, one has to complete a qualification at an NQF level 6 in taxation and needs to a member of a recognised professional body, such as SAIT.
The ideal route for this would be via the Tax Technician Occupational Certificate This qualification is at an NQF 6 and the Professional body responsible is The South African Institute of Tax (SAIT).
